What is the Supercars Grand Final?
In 2025, Adelaide takes centre stage as the first ever ‘Grand Final’ of the Supercars Championship. This means it’s the last weekend of the season, where the top four contenders battle it out one last time for championship glory.
So how does it work?
Four drivers go into Adelaide on 5000 points plus Grand Final Bonus points of 50, 30, and 15 for first to third place based on the points scored after the Sandown semi-final.
The final three races at Adelaide will determine the championship, where one of the top four drivers will come out on top with the highest championship points total.
Points from every round throughout the year build up to this moment, after having a top ten after Bathurst then a top seven after Gold Coast before the final four after Sandown. If a driver wins a race at Sandown, they are automatically into the Grand Final, the last two spots are determined by the drivers with the most points after the two races.
For example, if a driver is in fifth spot in the standings but wins a race the driver in fourth drops out, so races win are as important as ever.
